This policy explains what information this website collects, why, and what happens to it. It covers batesvillelaw.com. It does not cover information you give us in person, by phone, or in the course of an existing representation, which is governed by our engagement agreement and by the rules of professional conduct.
Who we are
Ashlyn Hoggard Everett PLLC, doing business as Everett Law, 265 S 3rd St, Batesville, Arkansas 72501. You can reach us at moc.walellivsetab@eciffo.
Please read this before you send us anything
Contacting us through this website does not create an attorney-client relationship, and information you send before we have agreed to represent you is not protected by the attorney-client privilege. That relationship begins only when you and Everett Law have both signed a written engagement agreement.
When you use the consultation request form, send us only enough to describe your situation. Do not send confidential documents, account numbers, or sensitive details until we have told you we can take the matter on.
What we collect
Information you give us
The consultation request form asks for your name, email address, phone number, the county you live in, the type of legal matter, and a short description of your situation. The shorter form in our article sidebar asks for your name, email address, phone number and a brief message. You choose what to put in either one.
Information collected automatically
Our web server keeps standard access logs, which include IP addresses, request times, and browser user-agent strings. These are used to run and secure the site.
We use Independent Analytics, a self-hosted analytics tool, to see which pages people visit. It does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you across other websites.
We do not set advertising cookies of our own, and this site does not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any similar tracker that we control. The one third party that loads on every page is the Google map in our footer, described below.
Spam protection
Our forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission comes from a person rather than a script. Cloudflare processes technical signals from your browser to make that check. Cloudflare’s own privacy policy governs what it does with that information.
The map in our footer
There is an embedded Google map of our office in the footer of every page. Because it is embedded rather than click-to-load, it loads whenever you open any page of this site, and Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies at that point. That happens under Google’s privacy policy rather than ours, and it happens whether or not you interact with the map. The directions button beside it is an ordinary link and loads nothing until you click it.
Why we use it
- To answer your request and decide whether we can help
- To contact you about a consultation
- To keep the site running, secure, and free of spam
- To understand which pages are useful
- To meet our own record-keeping and professional obligations
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with anyone for marketing.
Who else handles it
A few service providers process information on our behalf as part of running the site:
- Our web host stores the site and its database, including form submissions.
- Cloudflare sits in front of the site as a content delivery network and provides the Turnstile spam check.
- Emailit delivers email that the site sends, including the notification of your form submission.
- Google Workspace hosts our email once a message reaches our inbox.
- Google Maps, which loads with the map in our footer on every page.
Each of these handles the information only to provide their service to us.
How long we keep it
Form submissions are stored in the website database and in our email. We keep the ones that lead to a consultation or a representation for as long as our professional and record-retention obligations require. We periodically delete submissions that did not lead to anything. Email delivery logs are kept for thirty days. Analytics data is aggregated and is not tied to you personally.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to moc.walellivsetab@eciffo and tell us what you are asking for. Some information we may have to keep to meet legal or professional obligations, and we will tell you if that is the case.
You can also block or clear cookies in your browser. This site does not rely on cookies of ours to work.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, sits behind a firewall, and is backed up. No website is perfectly secure, and email in particular is not a secure channel. Do not send anything through this site that you would be unwilling to have read by someone outside a privileged relationship.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be described here.
